When deciding how we wanted our chorus singer to be portrayed in our music video, it didn't take long for us to decide that the singer's style and character really should contradict that of Noxious. We wanted him to be a lot more soul fall and have, perhaps a greater passion in his own style of music. He could perhaps be more of a producer or song-writer who occasionally gets involved in singles such as this to get into the charts and to make a name for himself. Some examples of singer-song writers and producers who sing choruses are shown below.
Tinie Tempah ft. Eric Turner - Written in the Stars
Professor Green ft. Ed Drewett - I need you Tonight
In terms of what record label we wanted both artists to be signed to, we went with 360 Recordings for Noxious. 360 Records are a London based label, with most of their artists coming from North and East London. Their artists are all from similar genres such as Hip-hop, Grime and Rap. Current artists signed to 360 are Devlin, Lethal Bizzle, Ghetts and Marger. Although they are an independent label, they have in the past had their songs published by distributors such as 'DefJam/Island Records' and 'Virgin'.
Atlantic Records is a label best known for its many recordings of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and jazz. Examples of artists who are singed to this label are Ed Sheeran, Paulo Nutini, James Blunt, and 3oh!3. These artists all have their unique styles of music and are passionate about their music and song writing, as well as having the attitude of not wanting to change their style for other people. This is exactly the kind of character that we wanted our Eric Jonsson to be.
