Professor Green - Never Be A Right Time

This song is from the same album as 'Today I Cried' (Our music video) and it shares the same mood. The video is very literal and illustrates the song because the narrative is the same theme as the lyrics. The video inspired us because the performance from Pro Green is very believable, it's calm and mellow and suitable for the song. Despite the fact that it is a 'Rap' song, he has gone against the mainstream stereotype of a rapper by representing himself as an individual and unique artist. The stereotype would be to perform aggresively and disrespectful towards woman usually. Chains, cars and hoodies are usually part of the mise-en-scene but in this case he has transformed the perception of rap music through not only the song but the visuals.

Ice Kid - Live Once

This particular shot influenced us upon creating our video as it is a very iconic location that is situated close to us (London). In the video, I believe the irony of the performer 'Ice Kid' being on the other side of the river to all the iconic large buildings such as St Pauls' Cathedral is that he has escaped from the large scale of the city, similarly how he has left his relationship in the respective narrative. My interpretation is that he is being solitude and single ironically in the largest city in England. The location represents his state of mind and how he has found away out of the proximity of his physical state.

Ghetts - In A Zone

This video is an example of editing matching the beat of the music throughout. I believe this works well in the genre of rap/hip-hop as it is usually a fast tempo beat. If the editing matches the pace and mood of the song, the visuals will give the audience the same feeling from watching and listening the song respectively. Editing to the beat entices the audience as they become familiar with the pattern and therefore are more in key with the video.

Drake - Headlines

In this video, the editing constantly flickers between shots, with an edit every frame, whenever the guitar-like sound appears in the song. In 'Today I Cried' the use of percussion is used at the end of every verse before the chorus, the percussion beat beats on the timeline per frame, a technique inspired by 'Drake - Headlines'.
